Amanda's Wedding

My dear niece, Amanda, got married on January 25. I was lucky enough to be the first one to arrive and the last one to leave, so I had dinner with her and Ed my first night and my last night there. There's no such thing as a typical San Francisco wedding, but this one was more than you could hope for. Classy, cool people, lots of friends and family and fun, and everyone SO chic!

The rehearsal dinner was at a really great Italian restaurant near downtown San Francisco. The food was SO good! I'm sure the wine was, too, but I didn't drink any. Here's Laura talking to the future bride. The cute little red head is Abbey, Amanda's sister and also one of her bridesmaids.

Pasta, wine, family, and friends. Sounds like a good time to me!

See? I really was there, too.

He's got the hair, the jacket, the glasses, THE LOOK! Native San Franciscan, right? Nah, just Texan Steve all dressed up in a sports coat.

The party - everyone dressed so COOL, so elegant, so chic. Everyone happy, gathered together for a joyous occasion.

OK, so I wore a suit, too. It was SO nice to see Amanda, to get to know her, to see that she's happy.

One thing that made the wedding special was the location - Cafe du Nord. Rolling Stone even named it "Best Bar in San Francisco." It has a nice hall for large events (like weddings!), a beautiful bar and Gay 90's decor, separate little alcoves for the occasional tete-a-tete, but cozy enough to pack 100+ people in and have a really great time.
